Your Clinic Visit

We take a holistic approach on your medical needs.

Learn about the services and facilities that we provide to make your visit to our Specialist Outpatient Clinics a comfortable and convenient experience.

The National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) building located at 5 Hospital Drive is equipped with 38 clinic consultation rooms to meet the healthcare needs of Singapore's ageing population.

Aside from regular clinical cardiology and cardiothoracic clinics, NHCS also runs sub-specialty clinics that are set up to cater to patients with specific heart conditions and diseases.

Follow the links on the right to find out how you can prepare for your visit.

Registration

When you arrive at the clinic, please proceed to the self-registration kiosk located at either 4B Cardiac Clinic B (L4) or 5A Cardiac Clinic A (L5). Upon scanning your NRIC, collect the dispensed queue ticket and proceed to the first location stated on the slip and wait for your number to be called. Please feel free to approach our staff if you need any assistance.

Please note that consultation is by appointment and not on a first-come-first-serve basis.

On your first visit, the Patient Service Officer will give you a personal Outpatient Appointment Card which bears your name, hospital registration number and details about next visit. Please bring along this card with you each time you visit the clinic.

Which doctor will you see?

Subsidised patients will receive team-based care led by an assigned specialist. Non-subsidised patients will receive team-based care led by their choice of specialist. Please be assured that patients receive the same quality of care regardless of their subsidy status.

How long will your visit take?

The time for your visit may take an hour or up to three hours, depending on the complexity of the conditions seen in the clinic on the day. Consultation waiting times may increase when doctors are called to attend to emergencies in the cardiac labs, operating theatres or wards, or if consultations of patients ahead of you take longer due to complications. There may also be situations where you may have to wait for the results of your scans or diagnostic tests before further medical advice can be given.

How many patients are there before you?

Most of our clinics provide consultation queue reminders via SMS. You may visit other areas within the hospital while waiting to see your doctor. You will receive a consultation SMS alert when there are around five patients before you.

Medicines

If the doctor has prescribed medicines, you can collect for them at 2A Pharmacy (L2) or in the clinic itself.

If your doctor has prescribed drugs which are not listed in the hospital’s drug list, you can purchase the drugs from SGH retail pharmacy at Blk 4 Level 1 or any other retail pharmacy.

Payment

After your consultation, please proceed to the clinic counter to make payments for the consultation and/or tests.

You may settle your bill by cash, NETs, credit cards (Mastercard/VISA) or local cheques. Receipts will be issued for all payments. Please check the receipts issued and report any discrepancies to the staff concerned immediately.

You can also pay your bills online. Our online payment service provides you with greater flexibility and convenience in paying your medical bills using VISA or MasterCard credit card. Click here to pay online.
