Basic Counselling for Exempt Nursing Staff (Management)

Course objective

This programme aims to equip the Registered Nurses (exempt) with the theoretical framework to counselling, and to apply the counselling skills to staff, patients and their families effectively using the problem-solving approach.

Course content

  1. The Counsellor’s values and the therapeutic process
  2. Ethical issues in counselling practice
  3. Counselling skills
  4. Conduct basic counselling with a problem-solving model
  5. Principles for managing reluctant and resistance clients

2 days

8am to 5pm

Course fees

$200 (excluding GST)

Target audience

Nurse Clinicians, Nurse Educators, Acting Nurse Clinicians, Senior Nurse Managers.

Written assessment

Award certification

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded:

  • A certificate 
  • 8 CPE points
