Advanced Counselling Skills for Nurses

Course objective

This programme aims to enable Registered Nurses (RNs) to further develop knowledge and skills on bereavement and palliative counselling when nursing patients and their family members.

Course content

  1. Psychosocial impact of illness
  2. The role, attitudes and behaviours of the counsellor
  3. Counselling techniques for bereavement, palliative care and stress management
  4. Counselling process using modified problem solving approach
  5. Ethical implications of counselling

8am to 5pm

Course fees

$450 (excluding GST)

Target audience

Nurses with basic counselling knowledge and skills.

Assessment

  • Mini – CEX Assessment – Practicum
  • Reflective Report

Award certification

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded:

  • A certificate
  • 8 CPE points
