The National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHRIS) empowers a thriving commercialisation culture for advancing the development of NHRIS’ technologies to impact patients’ lives. Our researchers at NHRIS continuously generate high quality research outcomes that result in a portfolio of commercially promising technologies – pharmaceuticals, model/platform, devices and diagnostics – which we actively support their transition out of the bench and into the clinics.

We support researchers at NHRIS at every step of the technology development process, by facilitating, formalising and overseeing collaborative research activities as they take place. By connecting people, technologies and organizations, we facilitate translation of technologies discovered and developed at NHRIS and put them on track for commercialisation.

Why collaborate with the National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHRIS)?

NHRIS, being the research institute for National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), is dedicated to advance the commercialization of heart research and fostering industrial Research and Development (R&D) collaborations. NHRIS has restructured its research infrastructure to establish a comprehensive pipeline that spans from basic science discovery to clinical implementation. This pipeline supports research in critical areas such as heart genetics, cardiovascular imaging, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), heart failure, and data sciences. NHRIS resolves to create a robust translational science environment that bridges scientific discovery with practical clinical applications for NHCS.

NHRIS has forged strong partnerships with renowned local and international institutions, including Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Stanford University, Harvard University, University of Oxford, as well as leading industry partners like AstraZeneca and Merck. These collaborations have driven significant advancements in translational science and clinical research, directly improving the care of cardiovascular patients in Singapore. Central to NHRIS' mission is a commitment to enhance patient care through innovation, education, compassion and medical excellence.
