Types of Accommodation

At the National Heart Centre Singapore, we offer the following types of accommodation:

Ward Type	Facilities
A1 (Single)	Air-conditioned room with television set Personal safe Digitalised newspaper Attached toilet with shower facilities Choice of Chinese, Muslim, Indian and Western cuisine Complimentary sleeper unit for accompanying guest Note: Ward 56 has temporarily relocated to Wards 65B and 67. The sleeper unit in Ward Type A1 in the relocated wards is available for accompanying guest at no charge.
B1 (4 Beds)	Air-conditioned room with television set Digitalised newspaper Common toilet and shower facilities Choice of Chinese, Muslim, Indian and Western cuisine Note: Ward 56 has temporarily relocated to Wards 65B and 67. The Ward Type B1 facilities in the relocated wards include single-bedded rooms, or rooms with up to 4 beds, all with attached toilet and shower facilities.
B2 (6 Beds)	Naturally ventilated, or with spot cooling facility Digitalised newspaper Common toilet and shower facilities Note: Ward 56 has temporarily relocated to Wards 65B and 67. The Ward Type B2 facilities in the relocated wards include air-conditioning, digitalised newspaper, attached toilet and shower facilities, and up to 5 beds in a room.
C (6 Beds)	Naturally ventilated room, or with spot cooling facility Digitalised newspaper Common toilet and shower facilities Note: Ward 56 has temporarily relocated to Wards 65B and 67. The Ward Type C facilities in the relocated wards include air-conditioning, digitalised newspaper, attached toilet and shower facilities, and up to 5 beds in a room.

Please note that all non-resident patients can only be admitted to A or B1 Wards.

Request for Change in Accommodation

You can request for a transfer to a different ward type (subject to availability of beds) under the following conditions:

Private Wards

All charges (except daily standard ward charge) incurred at the lower ward type will be levied at the higher ward type from the date of admission. Follow-up at Specialist Outpatient Clinics after discharge will be charged at private rates.
Subsidised Wards

If you satisfy the criteria of a Means Test, the subsidised rates will apply from the date of your transfer.

Hospital Overstayers

When you are certified fit for discharge but insist on staying in the ward, you will be charged at full cost for the period of your overstay.

The overstay charges will commence from the 7th calendar day of the date of certification as fit for discharge or from the 7th calendar day after the hospital has found a placement in a step-down care facility.

Early admission

If you are feeling unwell and require urgent medical treatment, please go to the nearest Accident & Emergency Department for immediate medical treatment.
