Cardiac Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Services provide a seamless care delivery for patients from initial assessment through to rehabilitation in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Our comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation programme is conducted under the supervision of physiotherapists and nurses. The programme is designed to improve cardiovascular health, enhance functional capacity, and promote overall quality of life for individuals who have:

  • Experienced cardiac related events or procedures, such as angioplasty, coronary artery bypass surgery, mechanical heart device, cardiac device implantations, heart transplant or heart failure
  • Undergone thoracic related procedures such as lung surgery or lung transplant

The services offered include:

  • Assessment of mobility/ functional capacity
  • Exercise testing and prescription
  • Supervised individualised exercise training in inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Cardiovascular risk factor modification
  • Educational talks including diet and nutrition counselling, pharmacological counselling

Patient Care New Minimally Invasive Treatment Gives Young Adult with Congenital Heart Condition an Improved Quality of Life 24-year-old Catherine, born with Down syndrome and Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a rare congenital heart condition, has regained her quality of life after undergoing a novel Venus P™ valve implantation at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). She is one of six patients in Singapore who has successfully received this minimally invasive pulmonary valve replacement, which spares her from an open-heart surgery.
