Cardiac Radiology

Synonym(s):

National Heart Centre Singapore’s Department of Cardiac Radiology offers a comprehensive range of radiological examinations including general radiography at the outpatient clinics, cardiac and vascular interventional imaging and multi-slice computed tomography (CT) cardiac imaging.

Diagnostic Cardiovascular Imaging

General Radiography utilising digital radiography creates almost instantaneous x-ray images. The sensitive detectors produce top quality images with lower radiation dose.

Multi-slice cardiovascular and thoracic computed tomography (CT) allows the heart and the coronary arteries to be well imaged using a non-invasive method.

Interventional Cardiac/ Vascular Radiology

Diagnostic angiography, percutaneous transcatheter coronary angioplasty, right heart catheterisation, cardiac valve repair/ replacement and electrophysiology procedures are routinely performed in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory.

Peripheral and aortic interventions are also done in both the cardiac catheterisation laboratory and hybrid operating theatre.
