The number of elderly will triple by year 2030. It is therefore imperative for nurses to understand and overcome the complexities involved in caring for the elderly to provide competent care. This programme aims to equip the Registered Nurses & Enrolled Nurses with the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required to care for the elderly.

  • The impact of the aging population on healthcare
  • Effects of aging on the body systems
  • The Aging Skin – Pressure injuries & skin tears in the elderly
  • Musculoskeletal changes: Impact on fall risks and rehabilitation in the elderly
  • Oral hygiene and care
  • Effective Communication with the elderly
  • Managing Dementia and Delirium
