Profile

Clinical Assistant Professor Sivaraj Pillai Govindasamy is a Consultant from Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at National Heart Centre Singapore. His expertise spans Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and Valvular Heart Disease. He also has been trained in Aortic Surgery, Endovascular Surgery, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI).

Clin Asst Prof Sivaraj graduated with an MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 2008 and have since specialized in cardiac surgery. After passing the MRCS in 2014 and earning the FRCS in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2018, he was appointed Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at the National Heart Centre, Singapore, in 2019. 

 

In addition to practicing surgery, he serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Lecturer at NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

 

His commitment to healthcare has been recognized with the 10-Year Long Service Award (2019) and Service Quality Bronze and Silver Awards (2020, 2022).

 

He has completed a year-long fellowship at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in the UK in 2023, where he further refined his skills and expanded his knowledge in the field of aortic surgery.
