It is used by some people to help with mild dementia, Alzheimer disease, anxiety and memory problems. Some will take it to help with dizziness, ringing sounds in the ears or tiredness. It is not fully understood how ginkgo biloba works; but it is thought to improve blood flow to the brain and other parts of the body like the heart, legs, eyes, ears and lungs.
This supplement is generally well tolerated. Some common side effects that you may experience are headache, and gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea or vomiting or loose stools.
See the doctor immediately if you have allergic reactions such as rashes, swelling in the eye, lips or difficulty in breathing after taking the supplement.

The usual recommended dose is 1 tablet once or twice daily. It can be increased up to 2 tablets twice daily if necessary or as directed by the doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose.
It may take at least 4 weeks to see its maximum effect.
Ginkgo biloba can be taken with or without food.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is too close to the next dose, skip the dose and take the next dose at your regular timing. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.
