NHCS established Asia-Pacific's first comprehensive Cardiovascular Ageing and Longevity (CRANE) programme in 2025. This pioneering initiative incorporates clinical care, research and innovation, and education to drive better cardiovascular care through prevention of cardiovascular disease and promotion of cardiovascular longevity in ageing.
With one in four Singapore residents reaching aged 65 and above by 2030, this programme will provide specialised heart care for seniors.

Medi-Kiosk A self-service station that measures comprehensive health metrics including cardiovascular and body composition parameters. |
365Novabot An assistive robot that can be deployed by nurses for patient education at the Short Stay Unit. |
Building on the success of our INDEPENDENCY Study in 2023 which trials diet plans and tailored exercise regimes to improve cardiovascular health and frailty in older adults, this initiative is poised to transform cardiovascular care and promote healthy longevity in Singapore's ageing population.
Ongoing research include studies examining exercise interventions for cardiovascular ageing (ESCAP-AGE) and investigating frailty in heart ageing (INDEPENDENCY).
