This is applicable to Year 4 students and administrators from Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) will liaise with students directly on the application process.

Research Attachment

This is applicable to Year 3 students and administrators from Duke-NUS Medical Education, Research & Evaluation (MERE) Department will liaise with students directly on the application process.

Students who have received approval on their research attachment from Duke-NUS are required to submit a copy of the following documents to NHCS, Office of Training & Education at training.education@nhcs.com.sg:

CITI Certification:

Instructions to obtain cert as follow:

  1. You may obtain the CITI cert from Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative website (www.citiprogram.org).
  2. Please create an account and key in Singapore Health Services Pte (SingHealth) as the affiliated organisation. Then, register as per normal.
  3. Please complete the module: Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel

 

NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine


Clinical Elective

This is applicable to Year 5 students and administrators from Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine will liaise with students directly on the application process.

 

NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine


Elective Posting (Clinical)

Course Description:

To provide in-depth exposure to Cardiology and/or Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient care including daily ward rounds, bedside teaching and involvement of students in the care of patients with a wide range of cardiac disease as well as exposure to subspecialized procedures and tests.

Application Criteria:

  • Year 4 Elective II can apply Clinical Elective at Cardiology and/or Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Year 3 Elective I can apply Clinical Elective only at Cardiothoracic Surgery as NUS has classified Department of Cardiology as a teaching department.

Supervisory Arrangement:

1 Ward Consultant & 1 Ward Senior Resident / Resident Physician (Based on Ward Roster) Supervise 1 Elective Student.

Supervisor's name and contact detail will be shared with students closer to the elective date.


Elective Posting (Clinical with Scholarly Project / Scholarly Project)

Application Criteria:

Both Year 4 Electives-II & Year 3 Elective I can apply

Type of Postings:

  1. Elective Posting (Scholarly Project)
  2. Elective Posting (Clinical with Scholarly Project). Clinical training will take precedence during the posting period which student has sign up for. Student will be engaged in scholarly project only during their pockets of free time.
