Objective
To provide the subspecialty echocardiographic fellow with the theoretical and practical aspects of echocardiography, including two-dimensional colour doppler and M-mode techniques, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography, as well as intraoperative and diagnostic transoesophageal examinations.

- Understand the theoretical aspects of echocardiographic technique.
- Learn the practical aspects of the various echocardiographic examination techniques.
- Master the interpretations, and clinical applications of all the various echocardiographic techniques offered.
- Conduct two-dimensional, M-mode, doppler and colour-doppler examinations.
- Understand and performs exercise stress echocardiography.Understand and performs pharmacological stress echocardiography, such as dobutamine stress echocardiography.
- Performs transoesophageal echocardiography in the echocardiographic laboratory, coronary care unit and intraoperative area.
- Be responsible for data entry and records of the patients.
- Participate in research projects involving these patients.
Admission Criteria
- MMed, MRCP or its equivalent
- Completed 2 years of general training in Cardiology
- The fellow should preferably be competent in interpretation of basic two-dimensional, M-mode and colour-doppler images.
