Associate Professor Calvin Chin is a Senior Consultant and Clinican Scientist at National Heart Centre Singapore, and an Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. He is certified in echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. Assoc Prof Chin graduated from Loma Linda University, California in 2003 and completed his cardiology training at the National Heart Centre Singapore in 2012. With the support from the National Medical Research Council, Assoc Prof Chin completed the Masters of Clinical Investigation at the National University Singapore and a PhD program at the University of Edingburgh at 2010 and 2015 respectively. He was awarded the Transition Award and Clinican Scientist Award by the NMRC in 2015 and 2018, respectively. His research examines the mechanisms mediating myocardial hypertrophy and fibrosis in patients with hypertensisve heart disease, using non-invasive imaging techniques and biochemical markers. In recognition of his research, Assoc Prof Chin has received several national and international awards, including the American College of Cardiology Young Investigator Award (2015), British Heart Valve Society Young Investigator Award (2015), American Heart Association Young Investigator Award (2018) and the SingHealth Publish Award (2015 and 2016)
