Assoc Prof Cheah Foong Koon is a Senior Consultant and the Director of Body imaging. He is concurrently the Head of the Department of Cardiac Radiology at National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), where he is a Visiting Consultant.
He graduated from the University of Edinburgh, trained initially in Internal Medicine and obtained MRCP (UK) before embarking on his radiology training in London. His training in London included senior registrar appointments at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital and The Royal Brompton Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologist (UK) and is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register, United Kingdom.
He was appointed a Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to joining Singapore General Hospital. He spent 6 months on a Singapore General Hospital Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, performing cardiac magnetic resonance imaging.
Assoc Prof Cheah’s special interest is in chest and cardiac radiology. He performs percutaneous lung biopsy and percutaneous localisation of small lung nodules prior to surgical excision.
Assoc Prof Cheah has numerous publications and lectures both locally and internationally.
