Clinical Associate Professor Sahlén Anders is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Cardiology, and Director of Echocardiography Core Laboratory at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). His subspecialty interest is in echocardiography.

Clin Assoc Prof Sahlén graduated from Medical School at Uppsala University in Sweden 2001 and did his postgraduate training in England where he obtained membership with Royal College of Physicians of London in 2005. From 2005 to 2010 he sub-specialised in Cardiology and echocardiography at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. He completed a PhD in Sports Cardiology and Exercise Physiology in November 2009. Clin Assoc Prof Sahlén has accreditation in transesophageal echocardiography awarded by the European Association of Echocardiography.

Clin Assoc Prof Sahlén has published extensively in areas such as cardiovascular physiology, sports cardiology, echocardiographic methodology and on antithrombotic therapy in myocardial infarction. He is a reviewer for a number of scientific journals including Heart, Am J Cardiology, J Appl Physiol, Med Sci Sports Exerc, PLOS One and J Clin Exp Cardiol. Clin Assoc Prof Sahlén is a regular reviewer for the European Society of Cardiology Congress, which is held every year.
