Medical Report
I am going for teeth extraction/holiday, applying for a taxi license/renewing my driving license, or received an insurance claim form and need a letter from my doctor.

I do not have an appointment today but I am feeling unwell and wish to see my doctor today.
If you experience great discomfort or need immediate attention, please proceed to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E).
The appointment date in my appointment card and SMS are different. I need to verify which date is correct.
Appointments may be rescheduled due to several reasons such as the doctor being unavailable. You may verify your appointment details via the Health Buddy app or by contacting the appointment call centre at 6704 2000.
My family member has been admitted into the hospital and I would like to know what I should do with his/her upcoming scheduled appointment.
If the appointment date is impending and doctor-in-charge of the ward does not have any plan for discharge yet, you may postpone the appointment via the Health Buddy app or by calling the appointment call centre at 6704 2000. Alternatively, you may inform the staff nurses in the ward to assist you with appointment matters upon discharge.
Charges and Financial Assistance
Can I use Medisave for Outpatient scans?
Yes, you may use Medisave for outpatient scans for diagnosis or treatment of a medical condition. To find out the applicable fees for the various tests/procedures, please contact the General Enquiry hotline at 6704 8000 from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday, 8.00am to 12.00pm.
What can my Medisave/Medishield be used for and its maximum cap for the different types of procedures? Who can I use my Medisave for?

How can I apply for assistance to pay for my medical bills/procedure as I am no longer working and do not have enough money? Can I talk to the Social Worker?
Yes, you may ask your doctor to make a referral to the Medical Social Services department for assistance.

Medication
My doctor has left out a type of medication/I am experiencing a side effect after taking my medication e.g. breathlessness. I need to speak to the doctor-in-charge.
Please contact the General Enquiry hotline at 6704 8000 from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday, 8.00am to 12.00pm.
Preparation for Tests/Procedures
I am doing my MIBI/MRI/CT Scan/Echo etc. test soon. I need to find out whether fasting is required, if there is any food/drink I should avoid and if I can take my regular medication before the test.

I have forgotten to fast. Can I still do my blood test?
If you are doing a fasting blood test, you are required to fast for at least 8 hours for accurate test results. If you had forgotten to fast, you may have to do the blood test on the next available working day.
Can I do my blood test on the same day of my appointment?
Depending on the type of blood test ordered, the turnaround time for the test results may range between 2 hours to a few days. You may put in your request when making your appointment and we will check if it is feasible.
Can I do my blood test at any Polyclinic (SingHealth or NHG) as it is nearer to my house? Can NHCS then see my blood test result?
Yes, you may do so.
I received an SMS for my CMR appointment. Why did I receive this and what is it for?
Our Nuclear Cardiac Imaging department sends out SMS reminders to patients with an appointment. Do take note of your date and time for the appointment. To re-schedule or cancel, please call 6704 8181 during office hours. Please refer to
