Clin Asst Prof Tina Koh obtained her medical degree from National University of Singapore in 2004. After housemanship, during her medical officer rotation, she developed a keen interest in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Hence she began her advanced surgical training in Cardiothoracic Surgery in the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). After completion of her training and received a gold medal for her specialist exit examinations, she decided to pursue further in Thoracic Surgery. She went to South Korea to train under the regional expert surgeon of Video-assisted Thoracoscopic (VATS) Surgery in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. Upon her return she work at the National Cancer Centre (NCC) as an Associate Consultant doing Thoracic surgery and became a Senior Consultant. With the increasing incidence and earlier detection of lung malignancy and hence surgical volume, she is setting up the Surgical Lung Cancer database.
She is also enthusiastic about undergraduate and post-graduate training. She is a clinical educator in Yong Loo Lin Medical School. In addition, she later joined NHCS as a Senior Consultant and is a member of the Chapter of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Clin Asst Prof Koh's interests include lung cancer, mediastinal tumours, airway and pleural disease as well as benign conditions such as pneumothorax, with a main focus on minimally invasive thoracic surgeries.
