2. What is the information required to make a medical appointment?
Please provide us with the following information:

Has patient seen any Singhealth* doctors before? (If yes, kindly provide the Hospital Registration No.)
*Singapore General Hospital (SGH), National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), National Dental Centre Singapore (NDC).
3. If I do not have a specific doctor in mind, would you be able to recommend?
Yes, we will be happy to recommend the most appropriate doctor taking into account your medical history and condition.

4. Which documents must I bring along for my first appointment?
For your first appointment, you must bring along your passport. Please also bring, if any, all relevant information on your medical condition, including your medical history/records, X-rays, test/investigations results and your current medication.
5. Do I need a referral letter from a doctor in my home country?
No, you are not required to bring a doctor’s referral letter from your home country if it is not available.
6. Can I seek treatment without a medical appointment?
It would be the best to schedule an appointment before your arrival in order to minimize delays and inconveniences.
7. Would I need a visa in order to enter Singapore to seek medical treatment?
Patients from ASEAN countries (except Myanmar) do not require a visa to enter Singapore. For the list of countries where nationals require a visa to enter Singapore, please kindly check the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website at www.ica.gov.sg
8. If my treatment requires that I enter Singapore several times, would I need a visa for subsequent visits?
You can apply for a multiple-entry visa with the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority if your treatment requires that you enter Singapore several times. The hospital can issue a letter to support your application, if necessary.
9. Would I be informed of the medical costs associated with my treatment before I come to Singapore?
We are able to provide you the estimated medical costs, based on the medical report(s) provided. A financial counselling session will be provided for patients who have decided to proceed with procedure/surgery.
10. Is there accommodation near the hospital for my family members?
We can suggest and assist with making reservations for you and your family members' accommodation at nearby hotels or service apartments at preferred rates according to your budget.
11. I do not speak English, does someone in your hospital speak my language?
Our International Medical Services team members speak different languages. Interpreter services can be arranged if needed at an additional fee paid to the provider.
12. How long should I stay in Singapore for medical assessment?
In order to have a more comprehensive assessment, it is preferable to stay for about one week in Singapore.
13. How much money should I prepare for my treatment?
An estimated cost of treatment can be provided to you based on your medical reports. However, it is advisable to bring sufficient funds in the event of complications. Complex cases may cost up to twice the estimated cost.
14. How do I pay for my treatment?
Payment can be made in cash (in Singapore Dollar), credit card, cheque issued by Singapore-registered banks or by telegraphic transfer (TT) in USD or Singapore Dollar.
15. When will the final bill be ready?
For outpatient visits, the bill is finalized immediately at the end of the visit.
For inpatient cases, the bill will be finalized in approximately 5-7 working days after discharge.
16. How is a refund (if applicable) processed?
It will take Business Office at least 2 working weeks to process a refund.
- If payment was made by cash, cheque or telegraphic transfer, a Singapore Dollar “cash cheque” or a cheque in the name of payer will be drafted.
- If payment was made by credit card, the refund will be credited to the original credit card used.
17. If I am to admit to the hospital, what types of room that I can choose from?
We offer 2 types of normal wards for international patients as follows:

18. Can your hospital cater for special dietary needs?
We can make the appropriate arrangements, please inform our International Medical Services team when you are admitted. All our hospitals’ kitchens are also halal-certified.
19. Where is National Heart Centre Singapore and how to get there?
National Heart Centre Singapore is located at Mistri Wing, 17 Third Hospital Avenue, Singapore 168752. It is about 5 minutes away by taxi or 15 minutes by train from Orchard Road. The nearest train station is Outram MRT.
