Nursing Training Programmes

General Information for Nursing Attachment


Requirements

  • Temporary registration with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)

  • A valid entry visa

  • Training pass

Application for temporary training pass:

Application must be submitted together with training programme, training objectives, copies of passport and related documents.

  • If trainee’s monthly salary is S$2000 or below, to apply with the Work Permit Department, Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

  • If trainee’s monthly salary is more than S$2000, to apply for Employment Pass with Immigration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs.

  • For training duration exceeding six months and requester is not from a hospital e.g. university, posting of a security bond is required.

Indemnity

Participant or sponsor is required to sign a letter of indemnity.

Medical Insurance

Participant is required to arrange for his/her personal medical insurance coverage for the entire training period.

Application Procedure

Submit application through sponsoring centre or forward it to

Application form should be forwarded at least 3 months before training commencement date.

Training Fee

  • National Heart Centre Singapore reserves the right to determine the training fee and training fees may be changed without prior notice.

  • Full payment of training fee should be made at least 2 weeks before the training commencement date.

  • A surcharge may be imposed for cancellation or change of training course.

Leave

  • Medical or sick leave must be justified with a medical certificate and preceptor should be notified.

  • Any other leave must be approved by the Administrator, Nursing, National Heart Centre Singapore.

Expenses

  • Participants / sponsoring centre shall bear all expenses such as food, accommodation, laundry, transport, entertainment, medical expenses etc.

Dress Code

Proper dress code must be observed in the clinical areas. All nurses are expected to wear their respective hospital uniform and shoes in the clinical areas.

Certificate

The National Heart Centre Singapore shall award certificate to the participants upon successful completion of the attachment programme.
