To provide participants with an insight of the roles, functions and responsibilities of Nurses in the Cardiovascular Laboratory.

To give participants an overview of the operations of the Cardiovascular Laboratory.

To facilitate participants in understanding the holistic care of patients requiring intervention cardiology procedures.
Contents
-
Overview of the organisational structure, functions, philosophy and objectives of National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS).
-
Overview of the basic requirements for the setting of the state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Laboratory Suite.

Understand the roles, responsibilities and scope of practice of the nurse in the CVL.

Observe the pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure management of patients undergoing various interventional cardiology procedures.

Overview of the haemodynamics and cardiovascular monitoring requirement.

Observe the cardiovascular rehabilitation programme provided for patients undergoing intervention cardiology.
Criteria
-
Registered Nurses with clinical experience in managing patients with heart diseases or conditions.

Currently working in a Cardiovascular Medicine Unit, Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit or Cardiovascular Laboratory.
